Welcome TO OUR BED AND BREAKFAST
Padua has a very ancient history. In 1200 the town was under the rule of the cruel Ezzelino da Romano, but in 1300 the The Carraresi dominion managed to bring the town to the art and culture magnificence despite the frequent conflicts with other rulers in Veneto.
The Carraresi Castle was built on the banks of Bacchiglione river, along which the city was also developed during the Roman age and it was given the latin name of “Patavium”. While working at the University of Padua in 1600, Galileo Galilei made frequent visits to the Castle Tower, which had often been
renovated until the Venetian age (1500) Nowadays, it is the seat of the Faculty of Astronomy where many astrophysicist studies and researches are being made.
Other nearby sites of remarkable beauty are: the Church of San Tomaso - of extraordinary artistic and historical value –the Cathedral which is not far and its Museum in which many historical-artistic artworks are exhibited, the 1400 Battistero – of great historical importance – in which di Giusto De’ Menabuoi’s frescos are kept.
